Dear Mr. Lauzon,

It doesn’t surprise me in the least that Stephen Harper is happy to sell out Canada’s resources, and even our judicial system and citizens’ rights to China. After all, he has made it clear from day one that Big Oil is his priority and the best interests of Canada and all Canadians must take a back seat to his those of his Big Oil buddies.

I am, however, surprised at you, Mr. Lauzon. Why are you going along with this sellout?

Oh, I know. There’s a lot of money at stake here. And to quote David Climenhaga, a lot of well-connected backs can get scratched, and so a lot of people are willing to stand up and tell you this idea’s just the ticket, even if a few environmentalists, social democrats, greens, Canadian nationalists and other marginalized voices are screaming from the peanut gallery that this may not exactly be in the country’s interests.

But there is a word for people who sell out their country, Mr. Lauzon.

It’s TRAITOR.
